Knee Pain When Walking? 5 Signs You Need Physiotherapy
Knee pain is one of the most common reasons patients walk through our door at Mediplex. The tricky part? Some knee aches are harmless — and others are early warning signs that ignoring will only make worse.
Here are the five signs that your knee pain deserves professional attention.
1. Pain that lasts more than two weeks
Minor sprains usually settle within days. If your knee still hurts after two weeks — even mildly — something needs proper assessment.
2. Swelling that comes and goes
Recurrent swelling often signals joint irritation, cartilage issues, or early arthritis — all of which respond well to early physiotherapy.
3. Pain climbing or descending stairs
Stairs are the ultimate knee test. Difficulty there usually means muscle weakness or joint tracking problems — both very treatable.
The good news: most knee conditions we treat — from early arthritis to ligament injuries — improve dramatically with a guided strengthening and mobility program. The earlier you start, the better the outcome.
